York Minster Visit

An excellent evening, hosted by our guide, Head Verger Alex Carberry who has been
associated with the Minster for some twenty years


An explanation on the functions of the Chapter House	Alex allows our party to see some treasures! 'Mercier Chalice' incorporating Cardinal Mercier's ring and given to Lord Halifax by the Cardinal	'Braganza Crozier' donated to the Minster by Charles II’s Catholic Queen Catherine of Braganza	Vestments
		An examination of the Visitors Book. (It seems our group was not as important as previous visitors! HM Queen Elizabeth II)

(an 150 mile three day adventure ride)

Start: 11 June 2010 - Stray, Harrogate
Day One:- Stump Cross, Burnsall Village, Cracoe, Malham Tarn with overnight at New Inn Clapham
Day Two:Deepdale (most difficult climb), Hawes, Askrigg, Leyburn
Day Three: Bedale, Snape, Ripon, Bishop Monkton, Knaresborough
Finish: 2pm 13 June 2010 - Stray, Harrogate

In the region of £1000 was raised for Polio Plus and £100 for Marie Curie Foundation

Well Done - all those who took part!!

Pateley Bridge/Nidderdale Walk - there appeared to be a lack of walkers wishing to be labourers for the day! 4 February 2009	A time when a 'bus stop' can be used as a 'lunch stop'!!	Three intrepid walkers spent a very pleasant, warm and rain-free, two and a half hours or so, walking from Pool in Wharfedale, along the Wharfe with great views of the railway viaduct 14 July 2010
