Shelter Boxes
St
Aidan's Church of England School, Harrogate
20 May
2008
St Aidan's
Church of England School, Harrogate decided to nominate 'Shelter Box' as
their Easter Charity. The whole school supported the project and years
7,8,9 & 10 raised enough money to buy four shelter boxes, the
cost of which is £490 each. They filled an empty Shelter Box with
Easter Eggs and encouraged pupils to take part in a Tombola for a whole
week. In addition they organised a 'dress down' day on the last day
of term; no school uniform was worn and this attracted more money. Teachers
also took part in this activity.
International
Chairman, Rotarian Colin Hunter presented certificates to the years involved.
The certificates
are numbered, allowing the classes to track the destination of their boxes.
The boxes have been used as part of their Geography lessons.
