This year's Charity Golf Day lived up to its reputation of heralding a lovely sunny day, very much enjoyed by all who participated.  The even was supported by over 20 sponsors and a multitude of local   businesses who made donations to the Tombola and Charity Auction.  Major sponsors included CNG (a local well known Harrogate based business) and Harrogate Round Table

Over 30 teams participated in the competition.  They were greeted with a welcome 'bacon butty' and coffee, treated with an excellent half way house (kindly provided by Harrogate Brigantes Inner Wheel), and an excellent post game meal provided as usual Darren, boss of Zest Catering.  Approximately 90 golfers stayed on for the award ceremony, Dinner and Auction in the early evening.
This was a lively and jolly affair with much humour in evidence as Rotarian Terry Scott auctioned off over 20 prizes.   This raised £1,300, a record for this event.

Everyone commented that it has been an excellent day; the tournament ran without a hitch with many compliementary remarks.  A typical quote would be
"This is a high quality, well organised event run in a friendly and efficient manner.  We look forward to it every year."

Net proceeds were just a little under £6,000 which will be shared equally between The Carers Resource (Harrogate Young Carers) and the Yorkshire Ambulance)

Winners/Runners up of the various competitions were (as pictured below):

Overall competition winners for the Thompson Auctioneers Cup:  Cardale Asset Management (Graham Fountain receiving the Cup from Phil Grant, Oakdale Vice Captain)

Competition Runners Up: Oakdale Captain's Team

Best Rotary team for the Mayor's Charity Cup: Richmond Rotary
